Samsara ELD issues

    Ok so my company is swapping over to Samsara ELD for whatever reason.

    So hooked up my box in my truck, get a solid green light but cannot for the life of me get the truck to show up in the app.

    Tried my Samsung phone and an iPad but no go.

    Safety guy don't seem to know anything, says mine is the only one with an issue, tried a second box, a diff cable. Tried the chat deal with samsara, that was no help.

    Anyone have any insight or had this issue???

    Enter your truck number to select your vehicle,you can add trailer number and trip number also

    Yes I can manually enter the truck number and select it, but it doesn't actually connect the app to the eld so no change of duty status and no tracking(which is why we are told they switched)

    Your company will either have to find your truck, which will be coded with random letters and numbers on their end, or they will have to call Samsara to have them activate the box. If you call Samsara, tell them the vin and such they will confirm it is "attached" but not "enabled" on the system. I worked for a company that did not understand this, they ultimately had to call. Company should be able to enable in the app themselves but if not will have to call Samsara to get it completed. Its a simple call, though.

    I could be wrong then in my previous post. Did not read further before quoting, my bad. Hmm. Are you logged into the ELD on a tablet as well that is inside the truck?

    I would try removing the app,then download it again.It has to connect to your company,seems like its not doing that.Someone in your company has it on their computer,they might have to add you to the system.

    I'm connected with the company, I can see all of our trucks in the vehicle list it just isn't coming up as a vehicle in range, so the app isn't reading it.

    I will try what another poster mentioned and call Samsera if I can find a number. All I've found is the chat with us bs that's just a computer generated set of articles that don't help

    Thanks. Will try and find a number and give Samsara a call, the guy that's doing it for iur company isn't bright either.

    I know it isn't my phone cause I can get other vehicles from the company to come up as within range just not the 2 boxes we tried on my truck

    That sounds like the issue I had. Two boxes exactly, both with solid green light. I ended up having to call myself, then the company called when I told them what Samsara told me. Make sure though when they finally get it where you can pull your truck number up and connect that it lists your truck. Mine at first somehow listed a trailer. Can't drive a trailer.

    Samsara is easy to use,one thing,when you take a 34 or put your truck in the shop,click on Go Off Duty and Sign Out.
    If a mechanic or someone moves your truck and you are not signed out,the time will go on your log and you will have to edit it out.
