Does anyone know if my M/Cs profile will be updated if my insurance expires? If so, why do brokers ask to be listed on my insurance as a certificate holder? Can't they just get this information from the SaferSys website? Does cancelling my insurance automatically update my M/C's profile?

If your insurance is cancelled by you or the insurance company, the fmcsa will be notified and your profile will show that your insurance has been cancelled. It will also revoke your authority. Brokers can check your MC number and see if your insurance is current. As a certificate holder, they would be notified of any pending cancellation and the date. They won't load your truck without current insurance.

It is easier to have yuor insurance mail them notice than look every one up every day.
