Start a maintenance fund and stock it up.

You need to sample your oil, and learn to read the results. If you have fuel dilution from injector issues you’ll wipe out bearings.

Not benchtop sample - laboratory sample.

Fuel in oil is a lot different than just fuel dilution in oil. Fuel dilution is trace elements of fuel from idling a lot.

Have an oil sample done when you get about 10,000 miles on your current oil.

Personally I think Lucas is snake oil that costs a lot of money with no benefit. Just use a good oil like Mobil or Chevron.

By your fan clutch " not working " ; You mean it didn't kick on at all, or it stayed on all the time?

You can buy a oil anl. kit at most truck parts stores for less cash than truck stop charges, like truck pro or most napa parts stores that sell truck parts.

Just put some Lucas in your oil once and try it. My e model will run a little smoother and leak less with a gallon of that in it.

Fan has nothing to do with water pump failure.

Oil samples. Every oil change. Not only are the beneficial to track possible problems but it can add resale value if you can pull out a stack of oil sample reports to show a potential buyer. We use CAT SOS on everything in our fleet.

Every combustion engine runs best with a specific air/fuel ratio. A diesel is close to a gas motor, about 14.5 to 1. More if turbocharged. Motor may run faster, but you can burn a piston doing it. Sounds like injectors aren't flowing well. Gallon of Lucas fuel treatment might help.

I think in general it is, but if you have a fuel dilution problem it help save your engine until you can get the problem fixed, and that would be the only time I would use it.

No it will actually slow down leaks, and if you've got a 350 Chevy that likes to lose all oil pressure at a stop sign put a gallon of Lucas in and see what happens.
