    Hey Guys,
I received my new fleet fuel card today from RTS. It's through Pilot & Flying J. basically it's a fuel card that can be used instead of a regular credit card. It's pretty good because you automatically save .05 cents per gallon at every pump, then work your way up. Does anyone else use this fuel card and what other fuel cards do you all use that save you money? I also like it because I can enter trip number odometer and this helps keep track of trips for my books.

Thanks Guys, hope ya'll having a great safe day out there.

I haven't gotten mine yet as I am still comparing. Compared to RTS there is a company by the name of Apex that has no monthly charges for an account but they do have a $1.5 charge per transaction compare to $.50 for RTS.

The reason why I am leaning towards Apex is because they offer assistance in getting started with your DOT/MC no's (I haven't begun yet) and the representative I spoke with mentioned fuel savings upwards of $.30 off cash price at places like Sapp Bros & Speedway, among others. Savings at popular locations like Pilot, he quoted similar savings as RTS.

They have an app for your iPhone or Android called fuel finder to "find the best fuel savings at truck stops along your routes."
The higher savings, if convenient to find, could offset the higher cost per transaction charge.

You said "...you automatically save .05 cents per gallon at every pump, then work your way up."

When I spoke to a representative, he didn't mention that. What's up with that?

The way he explained it to me is the savings off fuel is based on gallons pumped in a 30 day period. But the cap is .15 cents now with the combination of Pilot's Mobile app which gives you .03 cents a gallon that's pretty good savings.

Wow! A rep. never mentioned that at all over the phone. I still have the email where it confirmed that there is no limitation on fuel pumped in order to get savings (if I understand what your saying correctly).

The email said: "NO Gallon Requirements. You will save $.12 at Pilot Flying J from gallon 1 to gallon 1,000,000."

As a start, I'll say perhaps there is a miscommunication or misunderstanding within...

I hope I am saying this correctly to you I do not like giving false info to other drivers, I was told that I can earn up to a percentage of fuel discount based on the volume i consume if I understood my rep clearly it can be as high as .15 cents. However I want to be accurate so I will e-mail him for clarity on it and get back to you. The .03 cents from pilot flying j is strictly a reward you get from pilot for using their mobile app at the pump. I am one of those drivers that uses every app I can to save time and money.
I learned that because I drive a pick-up not a tractor that using the CAT weigh my truck app over the scale works basically because my truck doesnt come even with the buttons on the intercom like a tractor would. And so far the app works great I use it go inside and get my ticket super fast. Just another great app experience

Is that using a regular card or a Pilot Fleet Card? Like I said I want to make sure I am giving the right info on here so I wanted to check.

False advertising. Read it as " up to 0.12 per gallon". Savings depends on location.
