Does RRTS out of Milwaukee still allow their owner operators to book loads off of load boards? Do they have a login site for their OO's for available loads?

Instead of waiting for days to see if someone on the forum who knows the answer might see your post, why not just call them up and ask?
According to the thread at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/threads/roadrunner-transportation-from-the-start.257161/#post-4162245 (only about a year and a half old) they do have a load board at https://ic.rrts.com. -

No longer allowed to book loads ourselves. We have to call an authorized RRTS broker/agent who will do the load board searching for us and tells us the rate.
The O/O webportal used to have a load board of sorts on it, it was really a map of the U.S. with little blue clickable dots all around. What you would do is click on a dot closest to you and it would have some load details-- pick up city and destination city and a planner phone number. Sometimes it even had the rate. But now it is strictly pending settlements, equipment status (like dot inspections on file current) health insurance contact info, lease a truck contact crap, and some printable/downloadable documents.
I wrote about this on my thread way back, this one broker agent all the drivers I spoke with hate him, he got me a load from western Florida to northern Michigan right up on the Canadian border for $2200-- not bad. Had to deadhead 250 miles to it so he brought the offer up to $2500. Really happy til I logged into the RRTS site and saw about 6 other loads, same commodity picking up and going same place all offered at $3000 bucks. Found out why everyone hates this guy and that was the last time I worked with him.
In fact I have only worked with the agents a handful of times in the 2 years with RRTS. They just low ball the broker loads and won't budge. I had one lady broker laugh at me for asking $1.50 the joke was on her when she sent the rate con at $1.75 which I wasn't supposed to see, that was her rate negotiated with the original broker. I got my $1.50 after all. But again, she was another one I have not worked with ever again.
This all started the beginning of 2015, the new executive staff were tired of paying outside carriers to haul linehaul freight and came up with a scheme to force RRTS IC's to predominently do that. I don't mind, terminal to terminal is the reason I came over here but it would be nice to grab a good paying load now and then if the terminal doesn't have anything for a day or 4. Doesn't make sense to take a cheap load out somewhere to take a cheaper load back to a terminal or deadhead to that terminal 500-700 miles to get back in the lane. Sitting 4 days might even be worse who knows.
But I gotta say couple months ago they sent out an email they were no longer going to financially help IC's who broke down. In the last month my miles have come way up, not sure if it is that I have been here about 2 years or if they lost a bunch of IC's who couldn't afford to keep running.
EDIT, just logged in lol and see that I have my first quarterly bonus in the 2 years I have been here. BEST company EVA thank you RRTS!
I was just mad today because when I went to hook up my trailer I saw a hazmat placard pasted to the inside roof of trailer. Shine flashlight I see they used it to cover a big hole they ripped in. I went into office about ready to thump skulls and the kid told me it was like that when he started loading it. Come on be a man and admit it. I had just gotten unloaded the night before I didn't notice any holes in the roof. I'm OK with it now because if it had happened deeper in the trailer I would not know about it anyway til next week or if I pitch a ditch with a b they might have unloaded the trailer which would cost me more than the deductible repair.Last edited: Feb 6, 2016
kw600 Thanks this. -
Thanks boys! Doesn't look like anything has changed since I left. Just curious is they allowed the find your own load aspect.

The new contract says we can of course haul any load we want which I interpret as being able to book your own freight.I sent them an email asking for an updated list of approved and credit checked brokers so I could book my own loads and the reply was that they will not accept outside brokered loads. Then I went back and read the paragraph talking abou us being able to haul any loads we want and the key phrase is if RR has to approve it.

You must use only their brokers, who use complete control of you -
tonkatruckexpress Thanks this.

Who or what is the point of contact you for the RRTS broker agent? @scottied67
Thought you said they didn't have any anymore.
Side note, have you been to the Commerce terminal lately?
