In the morning I will be hauling 78000 pounds from Memphis to Kansas City Kansas. I am considering taking 55 North to St Louis and going i70 from there rather than dealing with us 63 and US 60. This is a time-sensitive load though with 10 hours to get there. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Well.. The 55-70 route is 520+/- miles, while 60-63 is 454+/-, google maps says the latter is 27 min shorter. Probably even more shorter if accounting for STL traffic.

40-49 says 554 miles+/-, and is an hour and 5 min longer than 60-63.

Try I-40 to US-65 to I-44 to MO-13 to MO-7 to I-49. It's about 510 miles. US-63 between Jonesboro, AR and the MO line sucks when fully loaded, but the route I mentioned isn't so bad. I've done it grossing 75K before.

This is not too bad. You would be working your way up.

If that US 65 is at Conway, a suggestion to bypass little rock is the following. 175 mile marker or roughly, take 31 north, it's a two lane 55 mph farm state route with one flashing stop light in woodlawn. Keep going until you get into Beebe, turn left at the railroad tracks. There is a 30 mph curve coming into Beebe, you need to be at that speed or slower when you hit it. You are now on US 64 Bus which will turn into US64 west straight to conway bypassing little rock completely with speed limits up to 65 on the Vilonia bypass. Eventually you get to US 65 near conway and head north and west. That is mostly 4 lane for a while. But has many towns along that route.

The amount of time used in bypassing little rock will pay itself if something happens in Little Rock or Conway and screws up that 40. As it usually does...

65 from Clinton to Harrison makes 63 from Black Rock to West Plains look timid. The grades are longer and steeper. Just not as many miles. I run 63 to 13 pretty good road, to make time on.

Either way you do it, you'll have to stay with it to do it in 10 hours.

Take I 40 West to US 63 North to I 44 West to Missouri 13 North to Missouri 7 West and North to I 49 North.

The Missouri routes are four lane. This is the best route.

The Buffalo east of Fayetteville requires some horse.

Ive done it from Fayetteville to Little rock in a little over 4 hours. But that river contains ridges that face sw to ne from Cleburne county down towards the Arkansas River with hills that will require some climbing. A bit of 4 hours and change was the best I could do. It would take longer if you tried to use 40 until 540 and then north.

The Jonesboro stratagem and then crossing to I44 somewhere near Voss would work out better. If you have the horses you have the time. But 10 hours is cutting it fine. St Louis is 370 miles from north and east of little rock and needs 7 hours to 9 hours or so to do it. Kansas City is a similar distance as the crow flies but the roads do not support a direct. Thus horsepower is king.
