  3. Well. What are you driving?

You can run parallel to i-40. But the asphalt and concrete on 66 is real broken up in some parts.

Google maps will call it "national trails hwy"

One thing that's an easy and quiet drive in a truck is from Kingman, AZ to Seligman, AZ. There is a place east of Peach Springs (Grand Canyon Grotto) that can accommodate a truck and a few turnouts here and there.

Also, Shamrock, TX and Santa Rosa, NM are worth stopping into. For a good steak, Shamrock, TX has a steakhouse with nearby parking. For Southwestern style food, Silver Moon Cafe in Santa Rosa is really good with parking

You can drive right down Santa Rosa NM. (get off at the first exit, get back on at the last), you'll still see some of the old stuff.

But IMO, Tucumcari NM has the best stuff, esp at night on weekends, all the neon is lit up. Main street (e-w) is old 66 and there's some neat stuff. two truck stops at Tucumcari, lot of hotels, bunch of parking, etc.

Some neat little stores/antiques, etc there too.

Yes. Pow Wow Restaurant and Lizard Lounge (and one of the last original motels still in operation) is great place to unwind (on the western edge of Tucumcari) Truck parking in adjacent lot. Pretty good mexican food and full bar with friendly locals

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

You can drive from Kingman through Seligman and then make the right and go on to Crookton. There are even Burma Shave replicas.

    Lepton1 and Omega7777 Thank this.

And be sure to go through downtown Seligman. Lots of good photo ops of shops and stuff there. But the western connector of the business loop is closed under construction
