Roof top wind deflector

Discussion in 'Trucks [ Eighteen Wheelers ]' started by Paddletrucker, Nov 4, 2010.

  1. I have a flat top FLD with the full roof top fairing. Sometimes I need it, and sometimes I need for it to NOT be there.

I'd like to take it off and find something like this.

I can't seem to find anyone that sells them. Does anybody know of a place I can get one that isn't totally wrecked??

    Thanks

IMHO this type of deflector w/o side walls will not be so effective becouse of lowered pressure behind it, more wortex streams, more drag...

    Paddletrucker Thanks this.
  4. You very well could be right. I hadn't thought of that yet. Still in the experimental phase. Thanks for the perspective.

I drove several trucks with that on it. They were all day cabs.I mostly pulled tankes, so I would lay it all the way down. I could tell a difference in the wind drag between it being up and down. They seemed to help some on a box trailer. I see them all the time on Freightliners, Volvos, and Sterlings.
