My question is that if you have a 52,000- 58000 lb tandem rollback, if that rollback has a tow bar how much can you pull behind that truck?
If it's set up that way can you pull a tri-axle dump truck?
Or does the towing unit also have to have the same gvw as the truck that you are pulling?

What is the tow bar rated for ?
If that roll back was empty the dump truck will push you down the road .Dino soar, broke down plumber and brian991219 Thank this. -
You know the thing is that I really hadn't thought about any of this until recently.
Now I'm thinking if a landoll trailer can do the same thing or more actually than a rollback, that's what I should get for my tractor.
I just wanted to make sure that I can put it to work as a hired truck somewhere, whether it's working for rental companies or whatever.
Someone mentioned the landoll can do recovery work.
Maybe someone can explain what that is and if I can do that.
I'd like to learn more about all this I find it very interesting.
Seems like a good alternative to running general freight if I can find steady work.
I've got a lot of experience in freight trucking, dump trucking, flatbed trucking, even ran a low bed for a few years, but very little involving rollbacks and landolls.broke down plumber Thanks this. -
The capacity will depend on several things, including how far from the center of the rear axle the pivot point is when extended to attach to what you are towing, the rated capacity of the tow bar and what is on the deck while you are towing.
With only two exceptions, you must have a load on the deck before towing with the towbar otherwise you are stressing the bed locks and will damage the subframe of the carrier deck. The towbar or wheel lift on industrial carriers is not designed to be used independent of the carrier deck excoet on the NRC brand products and a select few versions of the Miller Industries products.Dino soar, wis bang and broke down plumber Thank this. -
Many states require you to take classes and pass them to get a towing permit.
Dino soar Thanks this.
