    Hello all,
I am starting Roadmaster December 28th. I know there are cc's that are cheaper, but I need to " get ear' done". I know I will just get enough to get the cdl. Looking into Hogan, Carter Express, Garner, Baylor and Swift ( yes I know). I am open to other carriers that would be good for a Columbus resident. Looked at Valley Transport in Ashland also. Thanks to all!

Baylor isn't too bad; my former son-in-law worked there and did ok until they fired him, which he deserved.
Here's some more and submit applications during the first week of school. Some of these have "experience required" but ignore that because they all hire new cdl grads. Do the online apps.
    Abilene Motor Express
    National Carriers
    Magnum Ltd.
    Freymiller
    Dutch Maid Logistics
    Tyson Foods
    Waggoners Trucking Co.

    Any endorsements; interested in tankers?

I know Swift gets a bad rap but with you living in Columbus, I know they have a terminal right there. I started with Swift and they are actually a decent company to start with.

Out of your list, I'd go with Garner. Valley is a good company from what I hear, but flatbed is not for everyone. Don't limit yourself though, put in several applications.

Enjoy all that free Werner pizza while you're in school but don't buy into that lady's promises.

I went to RM Columbus years ago. Was decent back then. As far as what company to sign up with afterwards? There are tons of them to choose from. You're in a very good area to be a truck driver. Seems like everything has to go through Ohio. No reason a company shouldn't be able to get you home on a regular basis.

Celadon has a terminal in Columbus. They aren't a bad company. They'll also give you real training.

I'll look into Freymiller. Heard they fly you to orientation.
