I was looking for a company who runs on the I-5 and has O/O. I cannot find anything positive or negative about this company online, does anyone here work for them? Anything good/bad to say?
I am an O/O looking to stay in the west coast and be home every weekend. Thanks in advance for your input (current or past employees).

Dewey120, I have worked for a lot of trucking companies. I'm not a driver, I work in the office. Every driver is going to have a lot of complaints about their employer/broker, dispatcher, miles... and so on. Al Shufelburger, the owner of RLT, really does have a good program. You're not going to get rich working for him, but you can expect to be treated fairly, run good miles, be home frequently, and get help when you need it. If you show your dispatcher that you are a runner he will run you like no tomorrow. For the most part the dispatchers are good guys. They remember when you have done them favors and return the favors when needed. I worked there for five years. The only reason I left was to move out of the area. I have been working for another company now for a year and a half and I appreciate RLT more now than I did when I was working there.
Dewey120 and scottied67 Thank this. -

If you're looking for an I 5 run, this is probably the best company to roll with. I used to drive class c for a private client in Portland Oregon who needed to be transported back and forth between there and Seattle, then back down to san fran. I met a few of their truckers along the way and they seemed content. The only thing I'd comment on is the lack of money. One of their drivers told me he only averages about 336 net for a run from pdx to sfo.

I work for RLT as a driver.
- Our company tractors 90% are all 2014 to 2016.
- Our repair shop is fast and attentive.
- Equipment is well maintained (unless you're a lazy POS Driver that just drops your #### for someone else to deal with)
- Trailers: 30% over 7 years old, 30% over 5 years old, 40% newer than 5 years old.
- Our load pay is mediocre 32-36 cpm
- O/O percentage of load
- Delay pay modest to lousy.
- Tarp pay Modest
- Multi stop pay modest
- Forced overnight pay lousy.
Helpful shop. Adequate Dispatchers. Adequate miles . Good but irregular Home time for Portland and Redding residents. Nice guy owner.Last edited: Apr 27, 2017

A couple years ago their recruiter told me I could basically only be home when passing through Redding. I asked if you could take a few days off and was told no because she would have To give guys with more seniority time off first. Seemed really odd too me

If you're looking for flatbed work in the Redding area try SPI at Anderson. Good equipment and benefits. Last I heard they were paying percentage.
-
They seem to do pretty good. They seem pretty strict but most guys like working there.
-
They're strict but they're not unreasonable. If a guy does his job the way it should be done he'll never have any problem there.
Rugerfan Thanks this.
