Ok we just started running our own authority and my boss said heres a computer, printer, fax, scanner and money for a load board membership go at it. We are still waiting on our UCR to come back so we are limited to Texas only right now. We have a 50ton 3 axle rgn with 29 1/2 ft well. I got a membership with truckersedge but seems like I cant find a load for nothing. Is there a better site for rgn work or are we better off keeping that trailer to a company? Im new to this booking my own loads and dealing with brokers so any info of a good way to deal with that would be great to.
RGN Loads need advice...

You can pay your UCR and print a receipt online. Do you mean you are waiting for your interstate motor carrier authority? It usually takes a few weeks to get back from the time you apply. Some of the major brokers have their own loadboards, such as Landstar, CH Robinson, etc., Both have some RGN loads. I don't know about truckersedge, but mymembersedge gives you access to the DAT board. They have about 5 different loadboards and when you list with one it goes to all of their loadboards. Mymembersedge is the OOIDA loadboard and you can get a discount if you are a member. There is also www.internettruckstop.com and www.getloaded.com. -
No we are good for all 48 just boss man didnt do the ucr so that keeps us in Tx untill that is done which Ill do tommorrow. We kinda of jumped into it but its to late now we spent some money to get this far and I dont want to fail plus I have to bring money in for the family. How are the rgn loads on membersedge? Thanks chizel for the info, is that a tx load?

SBATSON, look at 5J's Trucking and see if you can't find a good contact for them and see how they operate. I see them all over here in PA doing rig moves, I'm pretty sure they are heavily involved with Range Resources, and from what I can tell they have a mix of company trucks and lease trucks. I can't imagine with what they're hauling and who they're hauling for that the rates are anywhere near low, but I can't say for sure.
Hope things are working out for you, counting down the days to getting out of here and hoping to get myself back in with Pritchett, we'll just have to see how it goes. -

I've been around some Rig moves with those 5J guys and they haul some big/heavy stuff.

They were moving 2 massive cranes off of rig 254 today, the tracks on that thing were nowhere near being on the trailer. We were back off of Atlasburg and Rea road in Avella, it takes skill to get something like that out of that neck of the woods.

Why not lease on to a carrier, get your feet wet and then consider going off on your own. Landstar,Mercer,Bennett any of those guys have what you're looking for. My opinion you're kind of getting the cart in front of the horse. Just my opinion!
Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
Hey trashtrucker how have you been? Ive been pretty busy up till this point. Admiral I have thought about it. But its either go back hauling sand working crazy times and gone for weeks on out or lease on to someone and let them control everything or make this work and still get to go home every weekend and through the week if I want ( just moved back to Ft Worth, Tx). Ive moved a little but need to move more to get the wages up. The boss man is a real easy going guy and he tells me all the time it will take time that we will get where we want to be, which is good but the paychecks dont go over well with the wife and shes worried( just moved, new place etc....) but I feel her pain to.
