I've received a few RFPs to bid on lanes for future loads. Any tips, ideas or things to think about when submitting a bid? The consistent loads could be great BUT I don't want to get screwed in a rate that's too low. Thoughts? Ideas?

Anyone out there that has won recent RFPs? What should I be looking out for or keeping in mind when bidding?

I'm an owner. I run one truck and contract drivers for my other trucks.

    Thanks!

They're looking for the cheapest bid. It's like U-Ship. Waste of time.

First thing to find out is who used to haul it for them. The second thing is to find out why they don't anymore. Some contracts just aren't worth it at any money. Figure that out first. They take too much time, hard in equipment, go to dead areas, etc. Then go from there....
