Replacement Steer Shocks Recommendations?

    I second the OEM. That way you get the shock that is appropriate for your wheel, tire, axle and spring combination. That matters on a steer.

    Shocks are shocks IMO. They all do pretty much the same thing.

    Their are some expensive shocks for truck if they still make them.

    I replaced all 6. OEM Volvo shocks $101 each.
    The previous OEM set I had for 2.5 years or over 200 000 miles - I decided it was long enough... I am not sure if they were still any good or not, except for the rusty look, but I would never know for sure until something ugly started happening, which would be too late and too bad.

    I run RoadKings it made a night and day difference. The modern equivalents are made by Fox Shocks for both tractors and trailers. Que comments like "l ain't payin $270 for one of the most important parts for ride comfort and quality of ride when crappy $100 ones will do just fine l do declare!" :D

    Then complain when their tires are wearing funny or cupping.. yeah that cheap shock paid off .. when your buying tires

    Shock absorber engineer on a top WEC or NASCAR team makes about 3yrs worth of a truck drivers wage in a season. There may be a reason for that.
