Going down to Daytona for abit and need to rent a car down there.
Never dropped a car at a different lot.
How does that work?
Has anyone done this and what service did you use?
Any offer to pick up the car from your hotel?
Idk just looking to get information before I book one. Any tips or sources of info are appreciated.

Airport to airport is usually cheaper. I like Avis -- costs a bit more than the cheapest option, but the same class of cars are a bit nicer if you're going to be on a road trip
CargoWahgo Thanks this. -
Rental costs for one-way can very widely between providers depending on if they need cars moved into or out of an area - I would check several sites for rates. Like DY said, airport to airport can be cheaper, but you are paying airport taxes on top of the rental rate.
Enterprise will drop you off at the hotel after you drop the car off at their lot. Or, depending on the hotel, you might check with them and see if they run a shuttle that will pick you up at the rental lot.CargoWahgo Thanks this. -
If u plan to pick up in one state and drop off in another and NOT RETURN IT TO ITS ORIGINAL PICK UP LOCATION,then i hope you have a CREDIT CARD,it is EXPENSIVE,my TRUCK BROKE DOWN in ATLANTA,and i was going to get ENTERPRISE to pick me up from terminal drive home back in LOUISIANA,well it was WAaaay 2 Expensive
instead i got a hotel room for 2 nights kept the RENTAL & just toured ATLANTA caught a few clubs, dropped it off when i was done a few days later, and Enterprise Took me back to my truck, when shop had it READY it was win win Deal, but it is EXPENSIVE if you plan on not returning it to its Original Pick up STATE,if you have Personal car insurance sometimes they run deals, call around check the internet and if you can always book 2 weeks in advance, its normally cheaper, only reason i had got a good deal was because it was the weekend and they was running a COMPACT CAR weekend Special $45 for the weekend ,lol
Best of luck to youCargoWahgo Thanks this. -
Yeah it would be cheaper to fly to Orlando one way and take a shuttle over.
Just want the convenience of driving and unloading my crap right then and there no hassle.
Did avis they had a lot couple miles from where I need to go and close to origin. Can live with a $20 cab bill.
Wouldn't be too bad if I didn't go one way :-/
$38 in taxes lol ....is that a bad deal?
Need to go into the rentacar business....Jesus...
1000 mi in 24 hours ....sure ...why not xD -
My final bill was $124
Have 24 hours to get it there or its $158.
Not cheap that chrysler better be comfy as a Lincoln. -

National Car Rental will generally be the least expensive one-way care rental company, and they have pretty good equipment in their fleet. I've had to use them several times over the past 20 years, and they always came in with the best deal after I shopped around. IMO, you should take a look at them and the other major companies like Avis, Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty. Good luck!

Hired a big SUV in DC and took a road trip with family to Orlando and dropped of at Enterprise in Johns Creek north of Atlanta 3 weeks later.
Was a week late and changed drop of point.
They were helpful and hassle free.
