I need to replace the driver's side door latch assembly on a 367. i had some down time and was able to pull the phillip head screws out, I didn't have a Torx with me to do those ones though. But with those phillip screws out the panel didn't seem any looser. Once I get all the screws out, do I need to pull up/down or sideways on the panel to get it off?? REally want to get this taken care of this weekend so any help is appreciated...

Does it look like this one?

Once you have it loose you lift straight up. The top lips over the frame maybe a 1/2".
Most door panels the top hooks the door frame and screws/fasteners/clips hold the sides and bottom perimeter. There should be two screws holding the door pull and screws to take off the door handle trim. You'll also have to take off the window crank handle if it has one.
Once all that is loose then you can lift the panel up. Be careful as you'll have to unplug any electrical connections once you can reach behind it.
I haven't fooled with that particular door panel but you might get lucky and take the door handle trim off and have access to the door handle screws. The door handle trim is held on by two screws towards the top of the trim and hooks at the bottom of the trim if it is like that ebay photo. The holes in it should give you an idea.
The door rod is clipped to the back of the handle. You can pop it with a flat screwdriver.
You might as well invest in a torx set as many bolts on the dash and trim use them. A good screwdriver multi-bit set is handy to keep on the truck.Agtrucker Thanks this. -
If you need to replace the latch and your door is stuck after removing the door panel look in the door and locate the stricker that the latch hooks to and there is a star screw that you can unscrew to release the door with the wholeassembly
Agtrucker and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
It was like the one in the ebay link. There was a lot more screws to take off than I anticipated there would be after I got the front panel off. About 45 mins to get the panel off and back on, only about 5 mins to change the actual latch. But its done, so thanks for the help!!
CondoCruiser Thanks this.
