    Hi all,
Just bought a 2018 T680, and I want to get rid of the collision avoidance system that's been installed on it from the factory.

Any tips are issues on removing the sensors off the front bumper and disconnecting?

it had the Bendix wingman and I disconnected that inside the dash so that's no longer chirping at me but the other one is driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance for your time hope everyone safe and healthy.

i suppose you could remove that system. however, the VIN number will show your insurance company that it was factory installed. if you have an accident, and it is not there, i can assure you that your nuts will be roasting on an open fire when the lawyers get that victim to represent.

Is the collision avoidance giving off false signals when you go under an amber alert sign?

Do you still have cruise control? Anytime I tried to remove it off my old truck it would not allow the cruise control work.
No shop would erase it from the ECM.

My understanding is they can’t just erase it, even if they were inclined to. It’s hard chipped into the ECM.

hold the up and down arrow buttons down when you start the key, cruise should still work but it's no longer active cruise, you have to turn cruise on and off twice for it to latch but it should still latch. no more robot shenanegans

Thanks for the reply guys I still have cruise from removing the Bendix.

What I'll do is remove it from the front bumper and see what happens, if it is indeed hard wired to the ECM maybe it'll throw a fault or keep the engine in a derate, I don't know.

I did have a genius moment and put the license plate over it. Worked great for a few minutes until the radar sensed a car that was turning, ....then it hard braked... ( I was at 4 mph) and kept doing it... I was laughing after I finished cussing myself. Quickly pulled over and flipped the plate. Lol

But I will keep y'all informed.

As for roasting nuts, I am not scared of volcanos or terrorists, or insurance companies, I am married to a Latin woman.

    More to follow.

I did it this weekend, unplugged the device under the bumper, no issues, only a warning light.

    Have a safe week.
