Which is best to continue my career and find something still paying decent and regular schedule. Looking at getting married in a few years. I'm 22 years old my girlfriend is currently in grad school will be done in 1.5 years then looking to move to one of the following areas. and I have only been driving for 4 months. Currently pulling tankers.

Austin is good for a highly educated woman; that's one city I considered when looking for a new city. Lots of nerdy, bright people live there, which is a compliment. I'm not that bright, but my wife has an MBA.
www.city-data.com has more information. Zillow.com and Redfin.com are two good websites to look for homes, condos, apartments. Do some Google searches for Austin.

    Tanker? Houston. The end.

The only way I would move to Austin was if I was trying to start a food truck business.

Austin sucks. Stay away. I can't wait to get out of the place.
    Another vote for Houston.

Why the food truck business? That's interesting.
Maybe this? : "What you hear is true. With vibrant entertainment and culture, inspiring cuisine and stunning outdoor settings, Austin lets you create a soundtrack all your own. We're home to more than 250 music venues and a vibrant arts scene. So take a look around, and put the Live Music Capital of the World® on your playlist."

Nerdy people, Silicon Valley types pay big bucks for mental health counseling; they can afford it.

Seems like the food trucks do exceptionally well in Austin. Been watching Guy Fieri's Triple D, and he's always at a food truck in Austin. Driving 18, I HATE Austin. Worst place in Texas to be driving a big rig. Plus, all the oil refineries are between Houston and New Orleans. Plenty of tanker jobs in Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, Morgan City...the sky's the limit.

Houston is tanker heaven as it's known as. I've delivered there at least 2 or 3 times a month to the chemical plants.
You're right, Austin is rough for 18 wheelers. Sometimes we just need a change in life and our home stomping grounds aren't doing it any more. Nashville,TN is a great little city but it was time to move on. Narrowed it down to Austin or Las Vegas and made the move. 10 minute drive from the Las Vegas strip and I don't even gamble.

I dont gamble either, but I have gone to Vegas for track days, and a cannonball. Stayed at the Circus Circus for dirt cheap (Sunday through Thursday). I notice that Danny Koker's shop is right across the road from Circus Circus. If I rode to Vegas and went to his shop, could I just walk in and meet the Count?
