    Hello Everyone,

I'm seriously thinking about relocating from California to Nevada.

Got 4 years under my belt with doubles/triples, tankers, and hazmat.

How much of a hassle will it be to convert my California CDL to Nevada? Will I have to take ALL the written tests over again or just the hazmat? And do I have to take the skills tests again? My CDL is active and in good standing fwiw.

And is it true that I must change within 30 days of relocating?

    Thank you.

Also, Nevada doesn't have a state income tax and I believe also allows you to use a mailbox service as your home address (not a P.O. Box) in case anyone was wondering.

I moved there from Texas. Gave them my Texas CDL and they gave me a Nevada CDL. Now when I came to Kommiefornia I had to take all of the tests all over again. Everything except for the road test. Pain in the ###. I told my wife that I dont care if we move to Mars I am not giving up my Cali CDL.

Can be done at any DMV office. You will need these things ready.

A bill from a utility company.
    Certified copy of Birth Certificate.
Drivers License application completed for CDL.
    Current valid CDL.
    Current valid Med Card.
payment for fees and charges for license.

Will be mailed to your address of record.

I'm illegal in Las Vegas; still have my Tennessee license. Don't know what will happen when I finally go to the DMV. I have everything else though, plus a house.

Did you go specifically to a CDL DMV office?

Someone told me it's best if I go to a CDL-speciic DMV to expedite the process. If you have a hazmat, did you have to re-take the written test?
