So i ran a red light with a camera the other day. No need to explain as its clear there's only a few reasons why people do this. Well i was in west Chicago and just want to hear if any body has did the same (Illinois or anywhere) and what's the fees. Did you get 15 points on record. Also the ticket and pictures are sent to your company right? Also what's the most points before companies don't hire you..not scared or anything but since this happened i would like to know more info....thx

I dont think red light tickets goes against a csa unless you get caught, If the camera got a picture of you it can be bad.
-
I got caught by one. No CSA points (to the driver) and was a $100 fine mailed to my company. My company reviewed the video and thought it was bogus, so they paid the fine for me.

One thing to keep in mind.
Red Light Cameras are basically set up for the 4 wheeler's who blatantly blow through the intersections. A large vehicle such as a truck cannot be expected to safely stop when a light suddenly changes without causing an accident. Many times, they review the tapes and see the timing issue and do not issue a ticket. Other times, they might see or think you could have stopped and issue the ticket.
No CSA points as stated will appear. Those only happen when an inspection occurs. Best to try and fight the ticket as well.bullhaulerswife, sevenmph and RAGE 18 Thank this. -
DO NOT PAY IT!!!
Tell your company that you want to deal with it DO NOT LET THEM PAY IT FOR YOU!!!
You must be served by a representative of the court to be considered "served". Until then its just an accusation. Did you notice that all the cameras in Arizona are gone? Thats because Redflex spent more money trying to get people served that they couldnt make any money.
I got dozens of those red light and freeway speed tickets, I never answered a single one. My wife got a few in her car and ignored all of them. Yeah, every once in a while DPS would go arrest some guy with 50 tickets for going 110 on the 101. They needed to scare people.
FYI cover your face with your hand when you go thru an intersection with a camera. They cant even serve you without a clear picture of your face to show the court. Even if you have qualcom they wont spend the time (money) to research to find out who was driving, they just toss them in the trash.nicholas_jordan Thanks this. -
Let me know how that works out.Pmracing Thanks this. -
Oh man. Don't know what to do. Still researching. And happy for the responds. Guess ill wait and see if a ticket even comes? How long do they take to mail ya if they do.....as far as now i don't mind paying up but just don't want csa points.

The ticket will not come to you, it will go to your company. They have no idea who is driving (but your company does). You can expect a call from your company's safety department when the ticket comes. I got mine in Alsip, IL and it took about a month to come. In the letter should be a link for you (or your company) to view a video of the event.
It won't be up to you to fight it or not, that will be your company's decision. As stated before it does not go on your driving record or CSA. However your company decides to handle it will be the way to go.ewill71 Thanks this. -
tried stopping for a redlight on Orchard Road in Aurora ILL. YEAH RIGHT. Those lights are set for 4wheelers. It set off an "incident" on the qualcomm that got me a phone call from the office. When I told her what happened, they just ignored the situation. And I was already doing only 40 in a 50 mph zone.
Similar thing happened in Kansas City MO on US71. This time I just kept on going. Never got a thing from the company or the city.
You can't stop a truck in the time they have them set for safely.Mototom Thanks this. -
I SAID DO NOT PAY until a representative of the court PHYSICALLY hands you the ticket. If you pay it, that is an admition of guilt. If your employer tells you hes just going to pay it for you and take it out of your check, you are GUILTY!
How do you know you got a ticket? Just because you saw a flashbulb means you know you did it and you're ready to roll over and admit you broke the law? MAKE THEM PROVE IT by serving you with a citation, photo clearly showing your face, clearly showing where the truck was in relation to the line marking the start of the intersection, and most importantly the speed of the truck.sevenmph Thanks this.
