Do truckers have to worry about red light cameras often? I know here in Florida they're all over, I'm not sure about the rest of the country. Obviously a car can stop a lot quicker then a truck can if the light is turning from yellow to red. Do you ever get tickets from them and how does the company your working for handle them. Luckily I've never got one but I have had to slam on my brakes a few times to avoid it. How does it affect your CDL if at all?

I don't know about all the jurisdictions, but in a couple I'm familiar with (friends on the dept), they tell me the cameras are aimed wrong and the timing is wrong to normally get a truck's license plate AND picture of the driver. They often get the front plate, but the aim is lower for a car or PU windshield, and what they get is the truck's grill.
Also, the timing for the second picture (the rear view) normally gets them a great picture of the top of a trailer.
But as was intimated by the previous poster....ANTICIPATE what's ahead and you normally don't have that problem.

We have red lite cameras all over and more are going to be added. You can't miss them. When a lite is green for so long then you start slowing down before approaching the lite.Chances are it'll change before you come upon the lite.

Ive never had a problem and I have run through a couple of them. Anticipate all you want but if you slow down enough you can go through green and it be red before the tail gets through. some of these places are setting their lights to short cycle in an attempt to cash in. The things should be outlawed IMHO.

Think cameras take a picture of you and the vehicle so make sure to smile pretty. Here if you cross the line before the lite after it turns yellow that will set the camera off.

Then you were going too fast, or were inattentive.

Interesting question, I don't know, but I don't think truck drivers run many red lights, or at least not where there is a RLC present or there would be no end to the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

If I understand correctly it is a civil infraction, so no points are awarded, so it shouldn't affect a CDL...but I don't suspect there's many carriers who would not view it as a serious safety violation.

I am in AZ and have several cop friends they say that the cameras are aimed to low to catch your face, they will in fact though catch your license plate so hen your company gets the ticket they can either make it or break it for you. Ill leave it at that. Best way is like everyone has said heads up driving and anticipate.

Yes , truckers have to worry about them. ( i go extra slow in the photo enforced zones , like 20 in a 35 , sometimes less )

Boss where I work let a guy go a while back .

He came down a hill in a 35 zone and blew the Red light at 62 mph .

Fortunately the cars saw him coming and stopped just in the nick of time .

    Could have been really bad
