@singlescrewshaker has a really nice little freightliner single axle 11.1 detroit 9 speed. Solid little truck thats exactly what you'd need

My ultimate light transport rig would be a short wheelbase KW or Pete, think the trucks that pull California style double belly's, with a built by me flatbed, plenty of toolboxes, and set up to pull a bumper pull tandem, and of course a 15 liter Cat cause who doesn't like power?

I honestly feel like that outfit could out maneuver my crew cab long bed Dodge with a pickup utility trailer, and ride better loaded or empty.

Another thought that has crossed my mind, would be a hooklift truck. You can do so much for those.

It's crossed my mind (dreams wishlist) to have a hooklift with boxes for prep / dirt tools on the front, and equipment transport platform for the skid steer with blade or roller on the back. Drop that at the job with all hand tools, laser, etc, then double back and grab the water tank for it to be my water truck.

Hauling a big mini and skid steer both at once you'd want to be long and have some drop axles, centipede truck hooklift maybe?

Why not? We put a 70,000 pound 40 foot container onto a 6000 pound chassis.

Not even remotely the same. A container provides the structure to support itself.

A trailer capable of hauling equipment has to be built to handle that equipment driving on it and support the weight going down the road with no help from what its hauling.

A 40ft Gooseneck trailer with a beavertail and ramps is going to weigh 12k+

I agree. I was using a example of what I knew to be extreme in tare weight versus carry.

You could put 52000 provided its longer than 20 feet on a 1995 Ravens trailer. The Fontaine being steel was heavier and could not take that load. Generally half inch shipyard steel sheet.

There are nice pickup duallies that claim to take almost 40,000 in towing. But for the money? you might as well spend half that and get a good tractor for the work. Much safer in terms of braking etc.

Question to the op, have you ever pulled that much weight before on f550? If you have you will see what everyone is telling ya. Schlumberger had F550 pulling their iron trailers about 33k total weight and that was f'n sketchy. Add in disaster relief situations with a gung go weekend warrior driver you'll be the one needing help. Look up m2 FL or something comparable

33k total truck and trailer not payload

    alds Thanks this.
