Hi is anybody out there that had a reckless ticket and managed to reduce it to a lesser level like negligent or whatever and get the points removed?
Thanks
Paul

Sure, with an attorney. Easy to drop to negligent because reckless driving the intent to harm or damage person or property is rather hard to prove. Good luck.

Really it's not difficult to be reduced, I know from multiple reckless driving tickets in different states. Take a court appointed atty. Tell him what you want.

Thank you again -
Well it was careless... In your title you said reckless. I am not sure those are the same charges.

Nope not the same at all. An attorney would cost more than to just pay.

Did this happen in the receivers lot? Or on the street? If on the lot, the ticket should be fought. Most areas police can't ticket for an accident that takes place on private property.

I got a ticket because I didn't stop at a stop sign when I was teaching my daughter to count to 3 out loud to remind her that even though we live in California, a California roll is not ok.
Then we did it. Moved out. The police officer said I didn't stop.
We explained. I gave my daughter a piece of paper and had her write down her interpretation of what happened. The conversation. The counting.
I asked the police officer if that would be sufficient evidence in court if she signed it and dated it or did she need to miss school. He didn't bother to show and my ticket was dismissed.
What you did has an insurance claim backing it, so even if you get the ticket thrown... Insurance will have it on your record for years.
