I got a reckless driving charge back in 2019-2020. Can I still get a job if I get my CDL? I know they care alot about dui but will a reckless driving charge affect my ability to get a job as a trucker? I really want to get my CDL but I don't know if it will affect it. I've heard you have to wait 4-5 years with a DUI before they'll hire you. Would it be the same with a reckless driving charge?

I'm not too sure...the mega carriers won't like this but you may have a chance at a smaller company or 1099 job.
Maybe even shoot for a class B driving a dump truck?

Be clear, the company won't care, the insurance company or underwriters (self-insured companies) will care. I won't hire someone with a careless or reckless ticket that has been adjudicated and the driver is found guilty on his/her record, my insurance company will tell me to boot the driver immediately, and has.
It you are still using, don't bother with trucking, we have enough of that type.Crude Truckin', nextgentrucker and RockinChair Thank this.
