I just recently passed my driving course. Looking for places to apply and get more training preferably in the five boros or in long island. Will go to Jersey if I really, really have to and pay the tolls. Looking for experience and training. Feel like NY is the best place to learn to drive like a champion with the horrible roads and traffic.
Recent CDL-A Grad, NYC. Where to apply and get training IN NYC or Long Island. (OTR/Regional/Local)

Here's some more that hire new grads in south Florida:
Vero Logistics
Milan Express
Titan Transfer
Armellini Express
Windy Hill Transportation
Florida Beauty Express - teams from Miami to California. Sometimes Miami to California to New York and back to Miami. Good paychecks. One new cdl grad said his first paycheck was a little over $1700.00brs1593 Thanks this. -
If you are a local to NYC, and it's Home, make sure your company has pike pass, pre-pass etc etc Transponders so THEY pay the tolls electronically. You will need about 25 dollars cash to gain access to Hunts Point.
When you get out there on the road. ALWAYS do a check of that Delaware Memorial Bridge. If there is a Nor'easter or storm situation that one closes first due to wind. You should probably already know that forecast up there by the time you reach it. Alternative is Chester PA then Philly and back onto 95 one way or another.
These are little tidbits to help you as you venture out from NYC in a big truck. I should remind you to take care of those clearance signs on your bridges in the area. But don't do that math anywhere else. No one does it like the Empire State.brs1593 Thanks this. -
