Fifth wheel is getting sloppy, and I can't adjust the slop out of it anymore. I believe it is a Holland, has the bolt out the front. What is the cost to rebuild one, and the cost to just replace it?
rebuild or replace fifth wheel?

The costs are the same and you can still have wear in the plate when you rebuild one. Much better to replace these days, competition among fifth wheel providers have made prices on new units very attractive. Rebuild kits are on the expensive side.
-
Replace for sure, the kits to rebuild are too expensive to be considered.

i had the same problem KW had the rebuilt kit for $369.95 i went to the scrap yard across the shop and bought a used one off a 2011 t660 for $485

SAF Holland are really former GF (George Fisher) fifth wheels. The problem is that genue kits are available on market. That's why I advice you get used Jost (37) becouse cheap, but good made in France repare kits are available for $50-100.
GF got bolt on front. Try to ajust first. -
I have an old style fifth wheel on my 91 L9000. Instead of a pull handle, it has a lever and a safety latch. I've never hooked up to a trailer, so I have no idea how it works. This is the first time I've seen a fifth wheel without a pull handle.

You pull the lever just like you would a pull handle after you release the safety latch.

my thing with rebuilding a 5th wheel is the liability if for some reason that 5th wheel comes loose and you lose a trailer, whos the liability gonna fall on for the damages. much safer in my opinion to replace the top plate and go on.

That's another good reason to just replace it. I don't think there's any good reason to rebuild one unless a guy just likes doing it.
