i just had 2 rear ends put in my truck, the first drive axle sits flat to the frame.. the second one (rear) is tilted slightly,, not parallel with the frame.. it looks like maybee it was done intentionally for the driveshaft angle but i see the rubber boot that goes between the axle and frame.. it just dont look right,, can someone look at their tandems and see if the rear axle is tilted or flat,, 93 international 9400

Normal. Pretty much every truck is like this. This tilt is built in so the working angle of the ujoints aren't excessive.

Once, the factory and their engineers got it wrong. I bought a new IH short wheel base tandem sleeper in 1973. The axles were tilted back to accommodate the short drive shaft. This lowered the axle grease fill hole. In about 1979, a rear wheel bearing seized and ruined the tube. I had to buy a new axle housing. The solution was a one-inch pipe elbow in each fill hole to raise the grease level which flows out the axle tubes to the wheel bearings.
