Perhaps this subject has already been raised but I can't seem to find it:biggrin_25511:.

What is the rate in your country for getting and/or renewing your tachograph card ?

Mine is about to expire and the price for renewing is the same as getting my first card but that is clearly not the case everywhere. The rate seems inaccessible within the EU web, hence the local authorities seem to decide the rate.

Like, in the UK the rate I found is:

    UK:[april 4 2011]
    New card.............................₤38 |
    € 45,75
    Renew a valid Card................₤19 |
    € 45,75
    Renew a withdrawn card.........₤38 |
    € 45,75

    Iceland: [april 4 2011]
    New card...........................₤87,20 |
    € 105 | ISK17.650
    Renew a valid Card..............₤87,20 |
    € 105 | ISK17.650
    Renew a withdrawn card......₤87,20 |
    € 105 | ISK17.650

What's a tachograph card. Is that the thing in the truck that keeps a graph to see when your driving or not. I never used them but roadway still had a few in there trucks when I started there just didn't use them.

It's a simple micro-chip card, which looks similiar to your credit-card.

You simply insert it into truck's tachograph and it stores all the info - how fast you are driving, for how long etc.

Yes, nevesu, that is correct. Has anyone any idea on how the rates for first applications and/or renewals are in other EU countries than UK and Ireland ?

Thanks a lot for your help :biggrin_255:
