it seems like I am being ripped I am an O/O with a boxtruck. I am new to the game before this I drove for a big concrete company so this is very different. I am working with a company that dispatches me loads and does the factoring I thought pretty sweet deal. They take 20% of the gross every week but I get no say on where I go. I never can find out what my pay will be until after Iv picked up the load and its usually like a weird screenshot that's cropped and weird looking. I showed my O/O buddies and they told me these guys were taking money from the top and bottom from me. Should I being seeing the rate con? I run under my Own numbers and & own my truck . What is going on???

Have the ratecons forwarded to your email that are directly from the broker. If thats a problem then probably not a good situation.

What’s going on is they’re running your business.
I don’t move my truck without a rate con.
It’s not a cropped shot, one guy does send a photo, but it’s straight from his computer monitor, and what we agreed on.

Learn how to search the load boards for box truck freight. Start knocking on doors and looking for direct customers. Small mom & pop grocers are a good starting point. Get away from your current company if they do not allow you to see rate cons or allow you you to pick the freight that you want to haul.

Besides Box trucks it's happening with all trucks including semi's. I'm currently leaving a Carrier for the same reason as their dispatch will send me anywhere, No rate con massive deductions from my pay etc. I was able to save on fuel, they started asking me for my monthly receipts demanded the return of their trailer rental, demanded I lease one from them on their contract and I said time to go. Probably taking a $10k loss for the month in between carriers but freedom needs to be relevant. You can't win with these types of businesses because they don't want you too win with their business design.

You are getting ripped off. You have your own authority and they are taking 20%. You should get every rate con. I would ask for everyone that you did. And find a new place to get loads.

You're paying 20% just to have a dispatch service find you loads who isn't providing proof of the value of loads they are giving you. Certainly sounds like you are getting ripped off, or could easily be getting ripped off. For all you know the loads could be paying double what they are paying you. Zero reason to trust them if they refuse to show actual proof.

Just the 20% is a rip off, you can lease onto another company and run under their authority, insurance, and dispatchers for less than 20%

If they refuse to provide full details about a load before I accept it, including the rate, then I'd definitely say no thanks. Don't debate, don't argue, don't make a deal, tell them to send you the rate con or there is zero chance of you doing the load, bottom line, end of story.

I hope by now you're not still running your truck and paying a dispatch service 20%. 20% is extremely high. A good dispatcher can charge 10%, but you still get to say where you will and where you aren't willing to take loads. Your truck, your rules. Also, make sure you receive a rate con sheet with all details and make sure it is what you agreed on with the broker before you accepted the load. They should at the very minimum be able to provide that information. If you are still running your truck, and I hope you are, learn to dispatch your own truck, make sure you nail down what it costs you to run your truck, and do not run for anything less than what it costs YOU to move that truck. Good luck!
