@cnsper
I"m talking about going through the rubrail to the frame of the trailer underneath. If it's possible for the frame to be hooked to.
None of you guys are carrying 8 inch RR ties. So how do you secure a load that only has securement points UNDER the load sitting on 4 inch dunnage or not if the case may be????? Specially you guys that don't carry snaps, only ratchets.
You can't strap OVER the load as you'll bend the top. -
If you zoom in on the load, you can see his chains that come down the sides do go through the rub rail and are hooked to the frame, in the 2nd pic chain goes through a cutout in frame and can see the hook under the cut out hooked to frame

yep, sorta like that. Looks like that dude still has chain in the open though. The load i had, was a box van. The securement rings were 3 feet inside the load, underneath.

I do it this way a lot when I have to pull forward up next to drop.
Also use frame on oversize loads.
Permatex Anti seize works well on binders and is water proof. Brush it on a few times a year. -

I am actually thinking about switching back! When these ratchet ones bind up they really bind up....slows me down! -
How are you all making them bind up? Do you mean when you close them you can't get them to unwind? When you close them to keep them clean just unwind them half a turn. Also if you hang a chain from them they will not unwind while hanging in the rack. I've never had one bind up on me.
