Does R&l linehaul just go terminal to terminal or do they have you stop in between for pickups? Im looking for a company that does terminal to terminal and not much city driving.

Do they usually stop in between terminals? I do OTR and stop at least 4 times before the final destination.

No most of those companies ups, abf, old dominion, fed ex, r&l etc. They are strictly terminal to terminal unless you meeting another driver at a drop location to switch loads.

i was number 3 on the seniority list of an LTL company i worked for, doing night time line haul, and i can assure you that on a very rare occasion, i did have to make a stop for a pick up or drop off. but it was with in the route i traveled from my starting terminal to my next terminal.

in my situations the along with the other 2 top drivers, it could have been that we got out first from our home terminal, meaning we'd have more time, to get back in the morning for the dockworkers to unload our trailers for the p&d drivers shift.

    so YES, it does happen.

I’m linehaul driver as well and I’ve never done pick up or drop off. I go straight to another terminal or truck stop and then come back.

i worked for the now infamous NEMF...i can assure you, that not only me, but the other senior drivers made a pick up or drop off along the way to the terminals we had bid runs on.

it was a "rare occasion" that any of us had to do this.

we had a guy that had that run, and he loved it, so as a result, even though he had senority, no one even wanted to bid on it.

he said that there was a great bakery nearby that made fresh bagels, so he looked forward to those every night.

can't recall right now, the actual name of that terminal.
