Hi again all.
I hope I'm not abusing the forum here, but I was wondering about yet another truck stop.
I have to deliver in Joppa Md early Monday morning / Sunday night.
I see in my guide that there is a XL TA off of I95 at exit 57. I was hoping to stay there Sunday afternoon / evening but it looks like they charge to park.
Anyone know what the charge is? And is the place worth paying to park there? Looks like my only other option is to go on north, past my drop another 30 miles or so and then come back after my 10.
The NE is NOT my favorite area to run, but as slow as freight is, I don't dare turn down whatever I can get![]()

That is about it around there. Last time I was there, it was no charge, and what a show! Hookers, drug dealers and the rest of the dreck that comes along with it.
If they are charging, stay there. More than likely they now have security. And if you spend a few bucks in the truck stop or buy fuel, parking will be free.
MikeDannyB Thanks this. -
I think I would rather stay at the TA in Jessup md. Both are crap holes but the TA in Jessup is just a bit better I think its exit 41a off of I95

Jessup it is then. I can deliver anytime after midnight and my plan is to deliver as soon as I can, then sit at the consignee if possible until after daybreak. Hopefully I'll be able to find a place to park back at the TA after that while I wait on the next load.
Of course, I REALLY hope I don't HAVE to wait on the next load, but I'm not real optimistic there.
Ny normal routine is to start the day early and be parked and shut down by 1500, 1630 at the latest. But if I have a chance to get in and out of Baltimore in the wee hours, I'll take it! -
The hookers dress better at Jessup.lol

I don't know about the Jessup TA, but the Baltimore TA charges $10 per day (unless you fuel or spend money in the store/restaurant).
HOWEVER, the "Guard Shack" is vacant all day/night Sunday and the gate is up. So if you leave in the wee hours on Monday, you won't get charged. -
Baltimore ta is a dive, If you park there and its dark out I would not leave the truck or open the doors or curtains if you here a knock on the door. I stopped there for a few hours during the day about 6 months ago and felt like I was gonna catch something just by going into the bathroom there. An the people working the counters are total jerks, the one ghetto lookin lady that rang me up acted like I was interuppting here free time and was like ugghh what you want me to ring this up. I hate that place and will never go back, oh right I dont have to because I dont run the east coast yay! One up point is I made a complaint to the TA headquarters and actually got a call back from the general manger the next morning and talked with him for about 45 minutes. He said it was a work in progress and they were trying hard to clean the place up and have off duty cops working the parking lot at night.

Jessup hit me for $12 last time I was there.

A work in progress.........that started before MY first visit in 1994. Not much progress since then.....except the potholes are being used to hide the bodies of dead lot-lizzards.

Well that was all good info.
And with that in mind, I hit the rest area just inside Maryland from Washington, and spent the night there
It seemed much safer than either truck stop! I didn't need fuel, and I eat out of the truck anyway so it worked out. I got to eyeball the one in Baltimore when I drove by, and nope, I would NOT have stopped there just judging by what I saw from 95
