Hey all. Quick question about the form you take in with you for the dot physical exam.
I answer no to all questions except two of them...
One is if you've ever had a lung disease or asthma. When I was a kid I had very slight asthma that corrected itself in adolescence. If I answer Yes to that and explain it as such will I need to prove anything otherwise?
About 20 years ago in my late teens I had a really bad breakup and some anxiety from it. Went in to see a family doctor who put me on something to calm me down for about a month. No idea what it was, they said it was mild and told me to go get active which I did. Got into running and felt better. Never needed any prolonged meds, never had anything similar since then. Still, if I answer "yes" to this and explain it is this enough for them to flag it or not pass me?
All my health modifiers are great. I do a lot of running and am in great physical shape. I'm just worried those two things will keep me from my DOT medical.
Thanks for any help!

You'll probably have a problem with both issues. Probably need doctors statements, new outside physicals, etc.
The issues no longer exist, so why bring them up? -
RockinChair, Old_n_gray, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this.

Just say NO
Opus, Bean Jr., hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Just like the one asking if you've ever been in a hospital. Of course 99% of people have when they were born. They don't care so don't even bother answering yes to it.
Bean Jr., tscottme and ChickenTender Thank this. -
It was long enough ago not to be bothering you now. Answer NO.
RockinChair, Diesel Dave, Opus and 2 others Thank this. -
Old_n_gray Thanks this.

Might be helpful if the paperwork stated health issues since your last DOT. Would make it so much easier. Instead you gotta fill out the same crap every time. Gets old….
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
No, no, no no, no.........32 times.
My health is my business
Here's a tell.......you have to self report. Which means they only care if you say 'yes'.
Otherwise, they have to document, transcribe, treat, follow up, and write a note to your mom.
They don't want to do any of this.
They only want your $120 and for you to go away.
Remember, the answer is 'no'.
And if you really need some kind of treatment, by all means, get it. Otherwise, it's 'no'.RockinChair Thanks this.
