Well just had my truck registered new owner op.

I filed for Apportioned plates in texas but due to COVID everything is backloged.
I have already gotten my TXDOT#.
My question is can i pick up a load with temp tags" Which i can get online like 6 days temp" and run in texas only, doing power only loads since i already have a TX dot number.

    Any info would be great.

Dont want to sit at home need to work.

Yes. I did the same thing waiting on IRP when my temp plates finally ran out. As soon as you get apportioned, IFTA is now "25+ business days" according to the IFTA people. So even after IRP, figure another month of not being able to go interstate.

Ohh great.:mad:Where did you get your temp tag.. I cant even get it online, dont know why.

Did you have to get it from the office. How long is the temp tag good for. Someone told me only 144 hours. Is that true.?

    THanks

No. I'm looking at end of December at best.

My original temp tag came with the truck when I bought it. For 144hr permits, go here: https://permit.txdmv.gov/Permit/Eligibility#nbb It will cost you about $55 per week until you get your hard plates.

    "
To identify the vehicle you want to purchase a permit for, please enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Purchase of a Temporary Permit for this VIN is Not Allowed Online. Please go to the nearest Tax Assessor-Collector's Office. "

If your dealer tag isn't expired, you're good to go. You only need 144hr permits once it expires.

What kind of truck do you have?

Bought from pedegree sales up in missouri.

Yeah just really frustrated with the corona crap everything taking forever. 2nd month insurance is coming up and have not ran a single load.:(:(

So you think this permit is enough i have a temp plate on the windsheild from the dealer ship.

I thought maybe it was a small truck or something, but that's a full size truck. Maybe it won't let you because it shows your plates not expired in the system still.
