I am buying an 07 Kenworth this week with the ISX Cummins and it has the PDI turbo, manifold, and tune. I am not very familiar with them and just wanted to get opinions from those of you who are. Thanks!

Worked great on my 04' ISX aka. an CM870.
You have if I'm not mistaken, a CM871 with the EGR on the intake side.

Junk. The variable geometry turbo is way better then a fixes vane turbo. Your cm870 has been butchered, pdi is complete crap. You would not believe how many isx failures have been directly related to pdi tunes, they just don't have a clue.

They have changed Thier isx tuned multiple times as it kept destroying engines but even now it still sucks.

Pdi does a turbo swap because they are too incompetent to properly tune this engine, they only know how to make power by adding fuel and molesting the perfectly engineered fuel tables. These aren't cats, you can't do that. They add fuel and over spool the turbo, then when the turbo fails they sell you a old dinosaur turbo and over boost that one too, eventually cooking your head. Guys then blame the engine rather than the idiot who tuned it.

I have 625 horse going through my motor hauling 140,000lbs every day. Never boost over 38psi and pyro is always cool, I have 1.1 million miles pulling those weights.

If you do buy this truck, m are 100% sure it has a boost guage and a Pyro.

Get as familiar as you can because that's your hard earned money going out. Just cause it's their stuff doesn't mean they installed it either. No telling who's had their hands on it. I've never dealt with any of their stuff because it all seems so overpriced and lots of times unnecessary to achieve what a person is after. The tune would concern me as much as anything.

old post but what do you recommend, I have a 2008 389 with a isx, it is deleted and I'm looking at getting rid of my vgt turbo so my question is how should go about this? I pull the same weight and also have the same hp. thanks.
