    Hi,

Recently got laid off delivering parts from a warehouse. Got offered a job from a fedex contractor and he stated a needed at least six months commercial driving experience.
I drove a chevy p30. Since I have never had a cdl license would this still be able to be considered commercial driving experience?

Why don't you just ask the man that offered you the job ?

Was also curious if it could be considered experience for companies other than fedex.

Fedex Ground policy is 6 months driving a like size vehicle, so if your previous employer verifies your information, you are good to go, as long as you pass the road test they give you. Road test is not bad at all, forward serpentine, reverse serpentine, and paralell parking, then a quick trip around town. One of the big things on the road test is always blow your horn before you back up (company policy), and when they tell you to park like you are making a delivery, park so you do not have to back up in order to leave, they are big on that.

    bubbabee Thanks this.

Worked there two years ago. Got hired with NO commercial driving experience. I had experience with fire trucks in m volunteer dept. Basically like frontrange said pretty much. I believe you can hit up to 3 cones when I took my road test. Just be prepared for long hours though, unless you get lucky and get a quick route like I had for my last one

    bubbabee Thanks this.
