Quarter fender question.

    Had a tire mess up one of my quarter genders. Can you legally run without them?

    I don't think they are required. Many trucks don't have them, especially when they might get in the way of some tire chain hanger installations. They are more for looks and maybe protect the back of the cab. Was told back in my gravel-hauling days by the safety guy, even mud flaps aren't technically required equipment on the tractor as long as you are pulling a trailer.

    I had a guy come in my shop about a week ago they gave him a violation for the exact same scenario only because part of the bracket was still on the dot officer told him if no bracket there than it would not be an issue so i would say depends on what kind of knuckle head you run into.
