Putting gasoline in truck tanks to keep from gelling?

    Did you ever try that with an M11? Mine leaks so much oil from the accessory drive cover and the compressor mount bracket it might not end well.

    I did fuel deliveries for I while with a straight truck. We had four compartments for gas or diesel, but only one hose and pump. The hoses held about 90 litres of fuel, so when you switched products you metered off the 90 litres and hoped you got it all.
    Anyways, our guidelines were that 0.5% contamination of gas into diesel fuel was acceptable and would not harm a Diesel engine. So if you can hold 200 gallons you can't put in anymore than 1 gallon total of gas.

    Used to be routine to dump a gallon of gas in tank when running the old Detroits in the cold. I don't think anything hurt those old 318's.
    Now ? These new engines ? No way.

    Nothing would hurt a 318, they could even run backwards.
