I was returning home with wife from Utah back to WA. Once I've crossed WA border there at I82 NB light read "truck must exit to scale" we were driving rental E350 camper truck. What does RV have to do with commercial vehicle weight station?
No, there were no semi trucks in front or behind us.
Pulling RV into weigh station.

There are sensors in the pavement, but they cannot distinguish between an RV and a commercial vehicle. The sign comes up automatically, but RVs do not need to go through a scale house

Some weigh stations in some states do require RVs to pull through, even if they rarely scale them. -

What about an RV pulling a box trailer, pulling a car hauler, pulling a boat, and pulling a BBQ pit trailer?????
Trucker61016 and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Yes, I have seen these campers they pull doubles, triples even some even more then that I am sure the DOT loves those if it's on the highway they can pull you in they can also chase you down if nothing else. and if your hauling a boat across certain states you are subject to being stopped and having them check your boat.
D.Tibbitt and Farmerbob1 Thank this.
