Pulling a HORSE TRAILER!

Discussion in 'Trucking Accidents' started by liltruck, Dec 24, 2007.

  1. I am venting................

A person whom is in or (((was))) involved in my Business , was pulling a Horse Trailer( empty ) phewwwwwww! , with a SUV.........................

Wind they say was the cause of the accident(chain reaction) and A Trucker( ok) was involved as well ......................................

SUV 's should not be allowed to pull horse trailers..............

In fact a person should have to get a special license and some serious training to haul horses in the first place........

I think to tow anything you need some kind of training. A lot of these do it yourselfers in the U-haul trailers don't know the little trailer makes their vehicle longer. They get that thing a whippin back and forth and pull over right in front of you like a Fed-EX set of wiggles!:biggrin_2554:

I've seen these horse trailers being pulled down the highway way over the speed limit.
This does not make any sense to me at all.:biggrin_25513:

A lot of folks have never pulled a trailer before. Then add to it the fact it is a "Live load" and the problems are compounded.

That is where us "Country/Farm boys" shine..... We grow up driveing/pulling all kinds of stuff in the field. We learn lessons about towing long before we even are old enough to drive on the road. (Legally anyway :biggrin_25517: )

W5IT I would have to agree
We lived in Ocala and drove up on a accident with a cattle carrier, caused by drunken teens in a car. The elderly gentleman was crying because he didn't bring enough ammo to euthanize the injured animals. My mom and I lent a hand putting down several animals. Very sad. People don't take just a second to realize the car, suv, semi's are all guided missiles and they are not driving experts"who is". If you wreck you will be really late, so slow down. One mistake and you can suffer, add alcohol or plain stupidity and it chaos.

  7. Be great if half of the drivers out there were on the fence watching the OTR's go by...

  9. Actually is one of my Favorite ways to Manage my stress levels....I put the world on ignore and eyes on the road, listening and feeling the horses as we go.............defensive driving and my cap pulled way down............................

  10. Can you imagine driving those "Cattle Trains" in Australia?

makes me wonder, was he crying for the animals, or because he didn't have enough for the ####**g drunks that caused it?

most trouble i ever got in, i went off and threw a guy out of the office, litterally.

he came in to get his car, griped about the tow bill, then accused the driver (me) of robbing him, and damaging his car.

while he was in the cruiser, drunk, i was waiting to start loading and picking up debris. i stood and watched the coroner transfer, and load into body bags, the little kids in the carseats of the car he had hit.

    drunks should be executed. period.
