I've driven trucks that have steam or smoke or oil or nothing at all coming from the puke tube. Please speak (write) to the significance of stuff coming out of the puke tube after a hard days running, and to the absence of anything coming from it. My N14, when I picked it up on Sat and drove it 200 miles had nothing coming from the puke tube. My buddy indicated that is a sign of a healthy motor. Your thoughts appreciated....

Its where compression goes when it leaks past the rings. Little to none is a good thing!

this blow by is required on a detroit!

Dang I thought I would be reading about some Chinese driver that put a tube in the cab to puke through while driving...
Seriously though, if there's nothing coming out of said hose, that's usually a good sign you have a healthy engine -
Nothing coming out is good, however just because an engine has a good bit of blowby don't mean it needs rebuilding,as a lot of people believe, my m11, has a good bit of blowby but don't use any oil

Blow-by can be from the turbo passing air past the seal on the compressor side, valve seals and guides, the air compressor, cylinder kit problems and a little bit of everything.
Just a thought!
