I passed a Publix truck and noticed that they have some nice equipment. So being curious I went home and checked out Publix's website. Only to find out this, "Publix's hiring process for Truck Drivers is strictly a promote from within process. It takes Distribution associates approximately 8-10 years to be promoted to a Truck Driver. All candidates begin in an entry level Distribution position."
That's along time to become a driver!

You've obviously never delivered to a Publix DC. 8-10 yrs is about how long they take to unload each trailer.
cabwrecker, stabob, sherlock510 and 5 others Thank this. -
Maybe so. But from what I hear, it is a good job.

xlsdraw Thanks this.

And they're constantly in the top 100 companies to work for every year.

Never heard of Publix until I made drops in Georgia, still never been inside one.
They do have some nice trucks, though. -
Another good thing about Publix is that they are employee owned as well

I worked for publix for 4 years in a distribution center their waiting list for the driver position was a mile long so I decided to get my cdl myself. 6-10 years is accurate.

They have a huge DC here in Jax. FL and I see those guys all the time. NEVER seen a dirty truck or faded paint! Definitely take care of business!
