I'll try to keep this short as it was brought to my attention that no one likes to read.

I only have about 6 months experience and during my first month alone after being with a trainer I had a preventable backing incident. I met with the safety department at my company and they questioned me about it and took a look at the pictures I took. I ruined the other drivers' hood just above the passenger headlight. He called his insurance and I called my company's insurance and got that all handled at the scene. Anyway, it's been 5 months since then, my CSA is still 0 as I've had no inspections or anything but wouldn't a preventable change that? I also just pulled my PSP from www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov and it's spotless. I can bring up an image if anyone wants but there is not a single thing there. So did my company not report this incident? Or does it take a few months to show up on my record?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you checked your DAC report?

I submitted a request for it. Looks like it takes a week or two to come in.

Ok,if your company uses DAC chances it will be there. But if you have a clean record all around I wouldn't think this one preventable will tarnish your chances too much with future employers.

It's not good either way. But if my company didn't report it, and they're a really big company, then I don't want to hurt myself and tell the next company about it if records show it didn't happen. I don't plan on switching companies with my lack of experience anytime soon but it's nice to know. I guess we'll know when I get my DAC. If it's not on that or my PSP then it's not on anything right?

A backing preventable accident on private property would not be a DOT reportable incident so it will not show on PSP report. They will almost certainly put it on your DAC report as the whole point of DAC is record incidents that are not DOT reportable.

Alright. Well I'll just wait for the DAC to come in then.

Since you plan on staying with that company awhile and you dont think it's on your PSP report I wouldn't worry about it.Ubu said it's not because it was on private property but keep in mind. A tarnished DAC isn't any better.

Yeah that's why I'm trying to see if it's on any of the reports. I know it's not on my PSP as I just pulled it a little while ago. I just wanted to know to see if my record is tarnished by it. It won't change anything at the moment but it'll help me feel better if it's not showing up, then I'll know I haven't closed any doors on myself for the future. I still feel like a dumb@ss for it no matter what.

Call the people at DAC and ask them if they can tell you over the phone if there is anything on it.

That's what they did for me.
