That doesn't justify taking my $50, its the integrity and notion they can get away with it, is what bothers me, when the rate is already to a low, it takes a petty thief to scheme a way and steal from the needy

Want to track something? Have a system or an app to call the shippers and receivers before the truck shows up to make sure the shipment is ready to load and unload. That will cut down on detention and TONU -
The problem is, most drivers feel it's a violation of personal privacy to track their personal smart phone. Wouldn't it make more sense to track the load, not the person behind the wheel? What if the carrier changes driver's, or drops the load at their terminal?

Even though I accept macro point or any other load tracker. I still get calls at 5am. Their reasoning is macro point doesn’t tell them the temperature of the load. So now I get accused of not answering the phone. Why should I. Just because is 7 am on the east coast doesn’t mean the rest of the nation is awake.

I have a rule, unless there is a need to track the load, then no app and no update calls. The need has to do with the value of the freight or the need of the customer who needs know where (JIT) the load is for planning purposes.
AND NO APPs are on the company phones, period. The drivers don't have permission to put apps on the phones, nor does anyone who works for me - just my manager and myself.
If this isn't good enough, we won't haul for that broker because of the simple words - TRUST and RESPECT.
If you can't trust my drivers to do a professional job, then it shows me a disrespect towards what I have built up, especially when a broker calls my driver asking for them to take a load. -
If the shipper/broker/receiver needs the load tracked so urgently, stick a tracker in the shipment. They're not expensive, and then rather than badgering drivers or trucking companies for these neurotic 15-minute updates, they can just watch the moving dot.
Some of us just run a phone, instead of a pocket computer, anyway. Not opposed to computers, but anymore I feel like it's less stress for a phone to be just that.alds and Snailexpress Thank this. -
