Any ideas for propane heater to heat the load above freezing (beverages) in non-plywood lined dry van (Hyundai Hy-cube)?

Will be used ONLY when parked.Should I crack door open a little?

    Or generally unsafe?

    What's Your thoughts?

    Thanks!

Don't know how cold its going to get but half that load will most likely freeze anyway your unable to move the heat with proper air flow, and the other half is going to cook. If the shipper loaded it on that trailer knowing full well what kind it is and where its going in the winter its on them. Plus its an open door LOL for thieves to steal you blind. So no I don't think a propane heater is a good idea. Don't know the full situation but I would think you're screwed.

There are heated vans, but I don't know anything about heating one without a heater installed.

Nightmare. Used a propane heater wired inside a 55 gallon drum strapped to wall of various straight jobs delivering plants in winter back in the 1970's. Totally illegal now.
Unless it is installed according to dot regs now you would be in for big problems

Millis put heaters in beer trailers at drop yards...but I don't think they were propane...I wanna say they were kerosene.

Hauling Onions with a vented van during the winter & you'll probably be using the ol' Propane Heater @ Night Time, (here the vents are open continuously, produce have their own toxic gasses). However, I wouldnt believe it will be a problem to keep the doors closed @ nite, since your hauling a liquid. Before driving, when turning off the heater (opening the doors n going inside) during the morning hours, this should be enuff venting for the box. Myself, i would use a Temperature gun before making any determinations on how to use the doors.
