Great West came through with a decent quote for my company. Can anyone tell me if you’ve had any issues with Great West that I need to know about?
Progressive or Greatwest Insurance?

Lots of stories of Progressive trying everything to get out of paying. Lots of praise for Great West. I made the switch. My rates didn’t change much for my second year. But I am in PA so that might have something to do with it. Maybe year 3 I will be lucky.
bzinger, Siinman and bamanation Thank this. -
Had a better rate with progressive, until wanted to add a driver. Raked me over the coals. Switched back to great west.

Great West has been good so far but nothing has happened to need to use them. No complaints. Had issue with Progressive on fixing an issue but they did pay, just wasted my time on junk parts first.

No claims with Great West. Great West has always been cheaper and services provided way better than progressive. But the agent I use is pretty darn good. I've never met a employee not wonderful to deal with. Even had a speed infraction that most on here will say career ending. They shrugged it off. Very professional and responsive to my requests.

I've had Great West since I got my authority in 2008.

Progressive used to be somewhat ok, they had to be competitive, but if you add a truck/driver they more than double your rate, regardless of their experience.
GW haven’t had issues, Went with Lancer insurance this year.Siinman, JoeyJunk and bamanation Thank this. -
Great west all the way

Their offering was so small, I had to go with Great West to deal with them.
There was no problem for physical damage to be paid. They processed that smoothly from the quote received from the shop.
But my disappointment came from loss of profit for days it is in shop.
The rate was supposed to be $800 per day. It was reasonable with all the proof I sent them with financial statements taking all my deductions using a preceding month before the damage as requested.
But I received an email informing they are paying only $250 for each day when it's going to be in shop which is ridiculous to cover just a rental. What's the point of financial statements then? Why to fill out all the paperwork if you are already basing it on the reefer daily rental?
I don't think I'm going to fight it since I don't want to be difficult. I don't want to be dropped. But I'm disappointed. They took seven months to mail the check without even asking me if I agree with the settlement.
I don't know even if the rental will be available. I'm waiting for parts to get to the shop.Last edited: Sep 12, 2023
