What kind of papers are you trying to file?

Mc number

Only in your home state. For doing business in other states, many states require that there is a physical address within that state to which legal process can be served. At least this is my understanding.
PALOU Thanks this. -
You can file everything on your own.
-
You can go to a licensing co and they can do everything for you, they don't have to wait in line like us poor schlubs do. lol
They will charge a nominal fee for this service.PALOU Thanks this. -
You must have a process agent in every state that you drive in, so unless your company has a hub or a presence in every state you plan on traveling through, you can not do it yourself.
The easiest thing I found was to join OOIDA for 45 bucks a year. As part of your membership, they take care of your process agent filings for free. You will also have to join a drug consortium, as per FMCSA regulations, and OOIDA's is pretty good for an extra 150 I believe.PALOU Thanks this. -
The process agent is cheap. Less than $50. That is the only thing I paid for help with when I got my authority.
-
$50 cheap ...but $50 times x is not .
if you intent to do 48 , i gonna have to dig dip in the pocket. Lol -
How did you decide what states you gonna run in ? or you just wait each time you get a load to get a process agent for your destination. How it works in practice.
