Wondering if anyone has looked into this area of driving. There are private prisoner transport companies that move inmates/detainees around. They are contracted by federal and state agencies. Must have CDL with P endorsement (passenger). They work in teams, always two drivers. The prisoners are chained into passenger area. The cab is separated from the passenger area.

Might be worth looking into. The company in Houston I am looking at hauls illegal aliens (deportees) back to the border. they only deal with this aspect of transport. They pick up from local jails, etc, and move them where they need to be. They are always chained, or unchained in secure detention facilities.

Probably could be a good deal.

Ya also contract yourself out ( on the side) as a recruiter for the Mega carriers.

    You have a captured audience.

Pass out some pamphlets to the "passengers" for their return to either society or our country.

Wackenhut or Gs4 (same company) does prisoner/illegal immigrants going back to the mexican border run. You need a guard card and exposed carry permit (.40 cal) Not sure about the driver but the guards start at about 23.00

The company I'm looking at requires passenger endorsement. They are an ICE contractor (Immigration Customs Enforcement). No sidearms, shotgun only in cab of truck. Two drivers always on assignment. Houston area with trips to Laredo to drop deportees. Some overnight (hotels, per diem) Home most nights, off weekends, some stand-by. Prisoners shackled and chained in seats. Loaded and unloaded at secure detention facilities. Cab of vehicle separate of passenger compartment.

Starts off at 45K plus overtime. I'm looking at this as an alternative to a regular trucking job. It pays decent, good benefits, not too hard of work, good home time, steady work (no shortage of illegals).
