Only an idiot would share their freight info with you. No one had any good contacts when they started but they put in the work to get them. You need to figure out what you're going to do then work on your own contacts.

    Same thought i had. Lol.

I guess I most be doing something wrong with them than. I average $1.90-2.00/all miles running with them.

My drivers that are leased onto me are averaging $1.70/mile. My newest driver started 4 months ago and has grossed after my take $80,000 to his truck.
Most of the other power only outfits out there do suck. Prime offers you access to there insurance rates, there fuel program, there discount tire and maintenance programs and there freight.

Prime isn't a low driver pay company, they are paying new drivers after training 47cpm plus most drivers average each week 3cpm or better weekly fuel bonus putting that at 50cpm for a brand new driver. Plus the benefits they give the drivers, they are spending a pretty penny for being a cheap company.
I've been on the advance fleet now for 1.5 years and love it. Have 3 other trucks that are leased onto me that run Prime's freight. You can grow your fleet here pretty nicely.
This is a pretty good place to let your authority age for a couple years and then go off on your own. The insurance rates are the best I've seen for a new authority.
I make good money doing power only with Prime. I have my own trailer and yes I could run and make Money with it but I tend to make more consistently each week with Prime then working spot market with my own trailer.

You want to know if there's any money in pulling for Prime with your own authority? Look no further than Wil-trans. They have over 400 trucks now. He was Prime's first carrier on the power only program.

@redoctober83 do they dispatch you or do you get to pick your own loads off a load board?

Yes, they bought palmer Palmer last year or the year before. They've also bought O&S Trucking & another smaller outfit.

Where are you located and which lanes do you want to run? Do you want to haul produce or frozen? It depends a lot on your options but $2.00 average is a dream on power only. Under prime you will average 1.40 to 1.60pm. I had a friend running for them. May trucking pays 1.41 flat with plenty of miles.
There is not much paying difference between dry and reefer for power only. I would chose dry van with interstate or jb hunt they over $1.40 and plenty of drop and hook. Reefer is notorious for waiting time and and mostly live loads.some companies won't even pay detention like may trucking.
Best option is call the company you want to run with and ask for average pay per mile, %of drop and hook, detention pay, running lanes, fuel cards, scale tickets and lumper and reefer fuel reimbursement. Good luck

Hmmm, so let's just disregard the guy who is actually running on Prime's power only fleet and the numbers from my actual truck and my other owner operators that are leased onto my fleet.

Oh well, I'm glad you know someone who use to run on the advance fleet program that had there own authority.

If the money is as bad as you're saying, then I guess I should leave because averaging $1.80-2.00/ all miles just sucks for not having to worry about a reefer trailer and having one of the best fuel programs out there that I get access to. Now just to clarify, prime pays for the lumpers, drop and hook for me has been around 50%, I get paid detention at an average rate of $20 for every 15 minutes or $80/ hour. I'll get layover when a customer messes up, I can drop a load at any yard or have it relayed off of me at no charge, I can use there trailer to pull a brokered load of I don't like what they give me or they don't have a lot of freight in that area. They have an insurance program that you can use that gives you the rates as if you were a 5 year old fleet. Yep, I should run away from the consistent paying freight I get from Prime. Oh and I get paid every Friday instead of 30-45 days.

I don't know about other programs out there but I do know this one pretty well since I'm in it.
