Prime Inc. Drug Screen Policies

Prime does a urine test and saliva swab for alcohol. If you show hot for either it's immediate termination... no second chances.

 

Note to self: don't bring mouthwash.

 

I have never been salaiva swabbed, but remind me not to go near a terminal after home time jic (I do stop drinking 24 hours before I'm on the truck)

I believe it's a valid question and not one to get up in arms about. Consider this for a minute. I had a tooth abscess on me about 3 months ago. Was written a script for an antibiotic and vicoden for the pain. I took a couple of the vicoden when motrin wouldn't help. It's something that's legal, prescribed, and wouldn't show up in a urine sample after a few days but MAY show in a follicle test a few months later. By knowing what kind of test I would be given, I'd know if I had to have the necessary info with me to prove it was legally dispensed.

Not to bust anyones chops here but sometimes it really does pay to know.

 

It's illegal to drive a CMV with any amount of Vicodin in your system, prescribed or otherwise.

 

Which is why it would be a good thing to know what kind of drug test you are going to get when you show up for training if you took it (prescribed) 3 months ago, so you could come with a doctors note or a copy of the prescription if you knew a hair follicle test would come back hot.

And we both know that is the kind of thing you must reveal to your recruiter. "Knowing" what kind of test is applied is useless since you're gambling that the substance is out of your body. If you haven't admitted to the use of the drug, guess wrong and it comes back positive you're done. You'll have a failed drug test, and lying on your application.

You guys don't get it. You can't hide preemployment prescribed drug use. It's explicitly asked about on the DOT physical.

 

Some of the most ignorant people feel the need to chime in. To say "oh man, you smoked weed?!" Ahh you're banned for life! Haha remember prohibition? Now we can purchase alcohol in the grocery store. Legalizing weed is new, much like alcohol after prohibition. So get used to it..it's coming to your state soon. You shouldn't be a trucker because you did something bad ONCE UPON A TIME!! None of you have ever exceeded the posted speed limit? Wouldn't we all agree excessive speed kills?! By your logic, you shouldn't be able to drive. Ever! The principle is the same. Either way your breaking a law and it could most definitely lead to death and unsafe circumstances. It's legal in my state..I took advantage of my right as a colorado citizen and enjoyed toking one every now and then. Most of you enjoy a drink on your home time..both legal in my state..both illegal driving a commercial vehicle. OP.. Prime does hair folicle, Schneider and knight too. Try searching two word combos in the search box at the top of your page I.e. Drug hair, hair folicle...along those lines. A guy started a thread and many have chimed in on who does what as far as testing. Click through a few and you'll find it..I did. Best of luck to you!
